More than four decades of building businesses, finding unconventional opportunities, solving marketing problems and making the kinds of decisions that only business owners truly understand.
I've built businesses, launched products, bought advertising, hired people, taken risks, made expensive mistakes and had some spectacular wins.
My experience spans marketing, media, publishing, hospitality, music, technology and artificial intelligence.
But the thread running through nearly all of it has been the same: seeing possibilities other people didn't see and finding a different way into a market.
I've never been particularly good at doing things simply because “that's the way they're done.”
That contrarian streak has occasionally gotten me into trouble. It has also led to some of the biggest successes of my career.
Business owners are often so close to what they do every day that potentially valuable opportunities become almost invisible.
It might be a different customer, a new market, a better offer, an overlooked distribution channel, a partnership, a pricing change, a marketing angle or an entirely different way of looking at the business.
That's where I tend to be most useful.
I don't come into a conversation assuming I already know the answer. I ask questions, challenge assumptions, connect dots and look for paths that may not be obvious from inside the business.
I've created nationally syndicated advertising programs, developed marketing systems, built companies and helped entrepreneurs find new ways to grow.
Some ideas worked beyond anything I expected. Others taught me expensive lessons.
Both matter.
Today I bring all of that experience into the room—not a generic consulting framework and not a predetermined playbook.
Sometimes they need another experienced business person sitting on the other side of the table.
Employees see part of the picture. Friends and family mean well. Specialists naturally see the business through their particular specialty.
An owner often needs someone with no agenda other than helping answer:
That's the role I built Authority Source to fill.
I won't recommend something simply because it's fashionable.
I won't pretend every idea is a good one.
And I won't tell you what I think you want to hear.
You'll get candid feedback, fresh thinking and the benefit of more than four decades spent actually building, marketing and operating businesses.
Sometimes we'll validate the direction you're already headed. Sometimes we'll uncover something entirely different.
Either way, the objective is the same: leave with greater clarity and a practical path forward.
Bring the challenge, idea, stalled opportunity or question that's been occupying your mind. We'll spend up to two hours looking at it together and searching for the best path forward.
